  Note from Pia

All of us are born with talents and we are given different gifts. I thank the Lord for giving me the gift to write. I thank Him for the gift to take readers to a place that does not exist, the gift to make people feel emotions that are not theirs, the gift to help booklovers giggle and cry, the gift I am embracing and from now on will be sharing.

Parents set expectations for their children to achieve. It is not just because they want you to accomplish them, but because they have faith that you can. I am grateful for the inspiration and confidence Dad.

Having faith in one’s self is a necessity, but having people you love believe in you as well is definitely incredible. My Mom and my Sister, the twinkle in your eyes every time I share you my story is exhilarating. I’m so happy I was born in a loving family.

I believe we meet people either by chance or by accident, but it is our decision if we leave imperishable footprints along the way. My lovely and reliable editor, Pamela Garcia who endured my unrefined spontaneous work and for wholeheartedly trusting me, thank you. Cheers! This is it!

It wouldn’t matter if you had a couple hundred fans or followers if the person you want to share your success with does not believe in your capabilities. My first fan, my affectionate and supportive Husband . . . this book is for you.

  Ut in omnibus glorificetur Deus.

  Synopsis

Having a crush is OK. Stalking a little is fine. That’s for Tara. But what about James? The object of Tara’s desire. How will he handle a cute and sexy thing trailing behind him?

He warned her. She is not going to like what he will do to her if she doesn’t stop. But somehow fate keeps intervening. Now James, a man of his word, punishes Tara the way he knows. He forces her to his bed.

Now, what will happen to Tara and James? Will Tara keep her crush or walk away from it? Will James continue ignoring Tara after he practically raped her and found out she’s a virgin?

  Prologue

JEA. Shit! I hope it’s not for James Ervine Aguilar!

She saw the hunk she was scared of facing just a few minutes ago walking towards her direction. She moves her shades to her eyes wishing it could make her invisible.

She looked at James who is still frowning. Did he never stop frowning since this morning? Or just because of me?

“I can’t believe it!” he told her when they were inches away.

  “What?” she asked.

“You’re following me even to the parking lot!” he shouted at her.

“I did not!” she said nibbling her lips again. Her heart was pounding harder against her chest.

“I’ve had it Tara!” he shouted again before pushing her to side of her car. They are now sandwiched by their cars. His body is pressed hardly on hers and their faces are inches apart. She can smell the mint from his mouthwash.

“I told you I’d make those lips bleed if you don’t stop!” he said before kissing her angrily on the lips.

Tara was shocked at first and remained frozen, a few seconds after everything that is happening sank to her, she started to try doing every protest she could. Her things are dropped to the floor as she kept punching his chest and pushing him away from her.

He wasn’t moving away though. He continued to savage and punish Tara’s lips as he continued to kiss her angrily. The space between their cars is not helping at all. Their bodies are pressed so close together and James is now trying to touch her legs and squeezing her thighs as he continues to force his tongue inside her mouth.

She tried to talk and say stop. But he took the advantage of the little opening in her mouth and plunged his tongue inside hers. He was pressing the back of her neck with his other hand and pushing it to his face. He was sucking her breath out and she is in tears.

Trying very hard to push James away seemed hopeless. James’ hands are moving up from her thighs to her hips and gripping them. She can feel James’ body pressing harder to hers as she continued her objection.

He was a six foot one inch bulk and what does she expect a five feet and six inches tall like her can do against it?

She can feel something hard in her stomach this time. She struggles with all the might she could gather as she knows that what she’s feeling is James’ manhood growing hard.

James is scanning her body with his free hand. It is now trying to get inside her shirt and she is trying to pull her shirt down as he tries to pull it up to reach her flat stomach. His greedy hands are moving so fast and strong and she can feel his hand on top of her left breast squeezing it tightly. She is so shocked at what James is doing and continues to weep.

His other hand now goes up to her face to cup her cheeks, but he stops and moves away from her when he felt her face is wet. He looked at her intently and saw her crying. He looked at her a few more seconds as he tried to catch his breath and then he finally left her flushed face and swollen lips.

He went inside his car and moved it. Tara immediately rode her car when she saw the space was enough and drove home still in tears, not looking back from where she left.

  Chapter 1

  Tara’s Point of View

First day of classes, finally, after 9 terms in College, this will be my last and I am graduating with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management. I will surely miss the school after this term. But just the campus, I will never miss the other students and my block mates. Well, that of course with some exceptions, like my best friend Lyn and my ultimate long time crush and my soul mate, James.

“Hon! Wait up!” I heard someone screaming behind me. Of course I know that voice is calling me, we’ve been together since first year high school, and I sure have memorized that voice. I turn around, my eyes finding where the voice came from. I continued searching amidst the crowd of students flocking inside the north gate with the slightest hint of rush, and are busy chatting with their own groups, as if they went to the mall and not to school.

Gosh! I wonder what courses these people are taking! The group of girls I saw all carried fashion magazines and the boys were not carrying anything at all. I wonder if they even have pens.<

I admit I am not studious. I don’t like studying much. I only study for midterms and final exams. I never get bothered by quizzes at all. But I am not as useless student as these bunches are. At least I have my small notebook with me today, enough to scribble some notes as the first day of school has never been toxic.

I let the slow group of people move and over take me as I stopped on the side to wait.

“Gotcha!” I received the most comforting morning hug as Lyn finally caught up with me.

“Hey Hon, how was San Francisco?” I hugged her back.

Wait! Wait! Wait! Before you think I’m lesbian, Lyn is my best friend since first year high school at the school inside the village in Alabang, where we both live. We were both loyal students there since our first grade, but we never met until high school.

“Weather is as good as you know. I bought some stuff for you but I haven’t unpacked yet. You know, I just arrived last night. I haven’t even tried sleeping to fight this jetlag off.” Surely, she knew I would be happy to hear her talk about what she brought home for me. Typical best friend.

“What? Since you were NOT fighting your jetlag, how come you didn’t open even one of your suitcases for me? How could you!” I joked as I pout and act disappointed.

“What! Don’t tell me you ran out of fresh panties and can’t wait for your new Victoria’s Secret? Honestly Tara, your underwear closet is even bigger than my shoe cabinet!” she squeals with her big brown eyes staring at me.

I laughed. I admit I love collecting lingerie but not as much as she loves collecting shoes. She could have her own museum of shoes that she wears just once and then gets them stocked up in that Sex and the City’s Carrie inspired “shoe room”.

“Cabinet? Really? Your shoes are stashed in a room twice as big as your drivers’ quarters!” I lightly shook her as if trying to wake her up.

She laughed at her own underestimation of her so-called cabinet. “Anyway, when did you come home from Davao? I can’t believe your resort is out of signal for the last two weeks. How did you even survive?” she asked me as we almost reached our classrooms. She knows well that I am very much addicted to my gadgets and the internet. I am a very tech-savvy person just as she is.

“Got home like two days ago, I wasn’t able to mail you then as I know you’re on the plane already. And yes, Wi-Fi sucked in Samal, but I survived swimming every day,” I shrugged.

“Gosh, swimming every day, and all you got is that sun-kissed skin? I hate you for it Hon! I wish I had the same complexion as yours!” she exclaims as she scrutinizes every part of me from face to toe.

I am wearing this olive green skirt I bought in Korea last Christmas and paired it with my pale yellow v-neck sleeveless top. And I know what she meant, I barely get tanned. I am half-Korean, half-Filipino so that explains my whitish and sometimes reddish skin. All I get is a little red like a ripe tomato after staying too long in the sun, but I never get burned or anything. And usually, that red sun-kissed look wears off after a couple of days. She, on the other hand, has lighter than honey colored skin. I like it more as she gets tanned when we go to the beach. She looks divine with her tan lines.

Lyn peeked inside her classroom and saw that her professor is already inside. “Hey Tara, I’ll catch you later. Mr. Fernal is already inside.” She said pointing to the man through the rectangular glass in the door.

“Okay hon, see you later.” I kissed her on the cheek before she entered her room. “I’ll send you a text message when I’m done with class. Let’s meet for lunch.”

“Excuse me.” The cool masculine voice interrupted as he stood between us, waiting for either one of us to move so he could enter the room.

I stared at the tall towering figure standing in front of me and threw him my biggest smile.

I saw Lyn flicker her eyes in dismay then entered her room.

Is he going to be my classmate this term? Oh gosh. I can’t believe my luck.

“Hi James!” I finally said before moving a little to give him way for entrance in the very same room I will be entering.

  “Pffft!” he replied.

Well at least he acknowledged my hi.

My soul mate has a little American blood from his grandfather. He has light brown hair like mine though. His eyes are sometimes teal colored and sometimes blue as the sky that could melt me anytime. Well, that’s if he ever throw a glance at me, which happens like once or twice per term.

I entered the room after him, and saw these people are not my block mates. Everyone here was from the other block section of BS Marketing. There are just two sections left in MKT or BS Marketing who are graduating this term.

I looked at the room again and my Enrollment Form, the room is LS321. I know I’m in the correct room. Then I looked at him again. He’s now sitting with his friends, Christian, Howard, Matt and Paco. The “Mythical Five” of our most treasured basketball superstars. I wonder if our school will still win the championship of University Athletic Association of the Philippines or UAAP after they graduate. The institution is one of the most prestigious universities in Manila and has been consistently winning the championship for 4 years already.

Mr. Villamor entered the room and I am still standing in front, thinking what I am doing there.

“Hi Ms. Salvador.” Mr. Villamor notices me and looks at me questioningly.

“Hi Sir, I am also as bothered as you are.” I showed him my enrollment form which says I am enrolled in his class and in this room and at this time, but confused as I am not with my block mates.

“Oh, Tara, I see you did not change your schedule. Did you not get the e-mail from the administration? They changed this class to accommodate this section because they are behind by two subjects than your block is. And they really have to finish these subjects in time for the next UAAP season,” he said pointing out to the group of five handsome boys who are not even looking at the professor’s direction. “They sent an e-mail to your block president to disseminate the information.”

“No sir, I did not get any e-mail,” and then I thought again, “oh wait, maybe they mailed me, but then I was not in Manila and I wasn’t able to check my mails when I got back.” I am not friends with any of my block mates, so no one would have taken the initiative to call me through my cell or send me a text message.

“Hmm, can I see your other classes?” he asked, extending his arm to get my enrollment form.

I handed it to him and saw him analyzing each of it.

“Hmm, you have five subjects enrolled and all of them I think are with this block. You see, we exchanged all schedules of your block and this block. And I see that you have been accidentally de-blocked from your section.” He enlightened me.

  “What?” I asked in awe.

“Well to be honest, you have two choices, either you attend these classes with this block, or you drop and re-enroll the subjects of your block.” He pointed out that those were the only options.

Suddenly I felt the silence of all the students. I blushed as I knew they were waiting for my answer. I looked at them slowly, scanning each and everyone’s face. Some were smiling, some looking impatient, some were frowning, and just one was looking at me with a look that could kill. James.

I think he’s thinking I deliberately de-blocked myself from my section to get close to him. The nerve! As if! Well, on second thoughts, I do want to get close to him for the last time, and I think this enrollment fiasco is the best excuse.

I turned back to our professor, “Uhm sir, how tedious a process would it be for me to drop and re-enroll? I never dropped before.” I intentionally placed emphasis on the word tedious as I spoke.

Well I’m not a dean’s lister or something, but I never failed at any of my subjects. Marketing is something I like to do and have been trying to practice since I was in junior high. I know I study well… for exams.

“You know Ms. Salvador, this week is the adjustment period, so everybody will be lining up at the registrar’s office dropping
and changing classes and stuff. You could start lining up with them right now if you like, but I’m not sure if you would want to deal with it when you have an option to stay in this block, and take their classes. It’s the same classes with your block anyway.” His voice was loud enough for all the students in the room to hear, and I was thankful for it.

I thought silently, nibbling my lower lip.

“Sheesh.” I heard that handsome voice again. I looked up and see him annoyingly staring at me.

I looked back to my new professor and said, “Okay, I will take your advice and stay in this block.”

“Urgh!” James’ retort was louder this time.

Oh when will I hear a different word from you James, it has always been those one syllable sounds that weren’t even words that you always throw at me. Hmph, pfft, sheesh, urgh, grrr . . . are these your terms of endearment for me?

“Okay, so if you take your seat Ms. Salvador, we can start the class.”

After one and a half hours of staring at the white board with black ink of the pen swished in with words alien to me, while my mind was drifting to the guy sitting at the back of the room, our morning class is finally over.

I grabbed my bag and looked for my phone quietly as everyone in the room rushed out, excited to take their lunch. It’s a Wednesday and it’s our University Break. U-Break happens every Wednesdays to make time for society/organization or special club meetings. It’s from 11:30 until 2:30 P.M., the longest break for the entire week, and most of the students are either at the mall near the school or the malls in Makati eating lunch and hanging out.

I found my phone and immediately dialed my favorite contact in my list.

“Hey Lyn, are you out?” I asked when my best friend answered my call.

“Of course you dummy! Or Mr. Fernal would throw out my phone in the veranda. You know how that old guy hates…” she started babbling.
